Greetings!
I am Bab (he/they/it), and I am a variety artist who believes in freedom of fiction. My specialty isn't quite about the medium that I draw in, but my subjects; I am an exophile at heart. I love aliens and monsters in equal parts. I have a history spanning everything from pixel art, to lineless digital art, to traditional acrylic paintings, to digital paintings.
To restate what I mean about 'freedom of fiction': I believe in freedom of fiction and the ability to use fiction to cross boundaries that would be unsafe in reality. I see fiction as a powerful tool for others to imagine, play, and have fun as much as I see it as a means to prepare, reframe, and cope. I feel there is actually a necessity in the latter, as it is often fiction that warns us of what is happening and what could be. Fiction to me has always been healing, and it would not be nearly so if I were only allowed to draw and write happy, fluffy works with no 'problematic' themes whatsoever.
But I also know that some cannot handle or do not enjoy extreme themes in fiction. My artwork is content warned to the best of my ability. I leave it to viewers to self-moderate and avoid content they know will trigger them. If you struggle with self-harming via reading or viewing extreme fictional content, I ask you to consider if you are about to do so on my site and to leave if that is your intent. This is your permission slip to not know, to avoid me, to block me and my site, to do whatever you need to do to avoid my art and writing on an individual basis.
If you like my work, consider donating to my Liberapay. I am disabled and should not be working the job I do now to survive, in regard to both my physical and mental health. Anything at all helps, and moves me closer to focusing solely on my creative works!
I will note at this time, I am currently dealing with severe burnout surrounding art both due to my work and due to the advent of machine-generated images and nonconsensual scraping. My current art projects and updates to the site are very slow due to the aforementioned.
